Anything going on in Jacksonville?

I was just wondering if there was anything going on in Jacksonville. We're not big sports buffs, but we would love to go out and do something. Most of the time it seems like Jacksonville is so dead compared to other large cities.

What do you do to stay busy? Any events/ shows happening in the near future? An is there anything in particular for visitors that they must do/ see?

    Gosh, I don't know. I always think Jacksonville is too small to really be a big town but too big to be small town... if that makes any sense. 

    Have you gone to the Riverside Arts Market (RAM) on Saturdays? Or the Art Walk Downtown?

    We've lived here a year now, and our "To-Do" list hasn't shrunk by much because we always find other things to do (beach/pool/etc).  First Wednesday Art Walk, we haven't done yet.  But RAM was a blast.  I also like to visit the Friendship Fountain at night when they have the lights and music working.  We recently saw the Wizard of Oz at the Alhambra Theatre, which was really cool... we'll be going back for their Christmas show.  Jim Gaffigan (one of my favorite comedians) is having a show next weekend at the Florida Theatre I think. St. Augustine is always a fun little trip to do touristy things or visit the gator farm.

    I think there is a lot to do with kids though with everything nearby in St. Augustine, the Zoo, MOSH, etc. 

    And I didn't think about Friendship Fountain! It's beautiful!

    Thanks ladies! I have been to several of the places mentioned. I just wish there were more festivals  like Tampa and Orlando have. There is a new festival or gtg every weekend down there.
