My 4 month old daughter takes the 4 oz. bottles a couple times a day at day care. I actually fill it to the top which is 5 oz. I then nurse her twice in the evenings.
I recently just purchased the Avent 9 oz. bottles and they come with the slow flow nipples (2) instead of the newborn flow nipples (1). She has never had any issues with the first level nipples but she does eat pretty slow. I'm wondering if I should try the level 2 nipples with the new bottles or just put her level 1 nipples in the new bottles. Any thoughts?? She is 4 months old so maybe it's time to up the nipples but she isn't fussy when she eats and I don't want her to have issues when I nurse her. Help please ![]()
Re: Avent Bottle Nipples Newborn Flow (1) vs Slow Flow (2)
DS is 6 months old and EBF. We use Avent bottles and he is still using the level 1 nipples. His teachers say that he does a great job taking his bottle so I am not planning on switching unless he has issues.
My lactation consultant suggested keeping him on the lowest flow nipples for as long as he is happy to avoid preferring the bottle over my breast.
I use the 9oz bottles, but just bought additional level 1 nipples. I kept the level 2s in case we ever need to go there!
This exactly, my daughted never moved up in nipple flow.
