I go to a practice with several doctors, so I usually see a different one each visit.
The doctor I saw yesterday said he couldn't reach my cervix to see how dilated/effaced I was. (Last week, different doctor told me 2cm & 50%.) I've been told before during yearly pap smears that my cervix was hard to reach because it was tilted, but shouldn't an OB be able to get to it? That's their job!
Anyway, the doctor yesterday mentioned that if I was still pregnant next week, they'd look at inducing me. I don't want to be induced, and have been told the whole time everything is perfect so I don't have a medical reason for it either.
I'm thinking about asking the doctor next week (if I'm still pregnant) to sweep my membranes to get things started first, instead of just scheduling an induction. I know it depends on how dilated/effaced you are if they can sweep you, but is it even possible with a tilted / hard-to-reach cervix?
