While I'm a big fan of gender neutral names, I definitely think of these for a boy instead of a girl. What do you guys think? What names do you think sound better for one gender then the other?
GIRLS:
Nick. (Not Nicholas, not Nicole, just Nick)
Sawyer
Aidyn
Bryann (Pronounced Bry-Ann)
Macks
Gabe
Jayden

Re: Boy names on Girls...
Wha? I'm confused. These are all bad.
What the heck is Macks? I've never seen that anywhere. OMG...is it supposed to be Max??!!
I could say a lot but my eyes are currentlly burning and I'm foaming at the mouth from the Macks revelation so I'm just going to say that all of them would be awful on a boy even (don't like nicknames as given names). But way worse on girls, though in general my gripe is that the trend steals good boy names. If only Jessica Simpson spelled her daughter's name as Macks, that really makes it feminine. Ugh, well hopefully no one else will try to steal Max to the girl side, they can totally have Macks, I think the world will spin just fine that way.
I'm curious as to what prompted this. Do you know girls w/ these names?
To me, these are all clearly boys names. Especially Nick and Gabe - I think it would be cruel to name a girl those names. All of them are quesitonable, but especially those 2.

I think some of those are spelled wrong and I also dislike them. (even spelled correctly) I hate boy names on girls.
::fervently hopes that this is MUD::
What you've got here is a list of strictly boy names mixed in with a few that aren't names at all. Bryann? What?
Ignoring your list entirely, there are a few names that are currently used for both boys and girls that I don't mind (Quinn, Sage), a few traditionally male names that were adopted by girls long ago that I also like (Meredith, Lauren, Mallory) and there are some I like that are differentiated by spelling, but not sound (Sydney/Sidney, Frances/Francis).

Agreed.
With the exception of Nick, those are the worst names I've ever heard of - mostly because of the spelling.
I admit freely that Ryan is a guilty pleasure boy's name for a girl that I love - but I wouldn't do it.
This post doesn't even make sense.
Is Bryann supposed to rhyme with "Ryan" or is it "Bree-Ann"? One is a boy's name, one is a girl's.
I hate boys' names on girls. It ridiculous and unnecessary. It will get confusing. And it's only moms of girls that steal boys' names. It's never the other way around.
Yeah this. I don't really get where you're coming from OP. Boy names should stay on boys and girl names should stay on girls.
I just realized this?I think she's saying Bryann like Brian. Oh, dear.
These are all children at my daughter's day care. I thought they were just so awful.
Oh, I would never use these names for a girl myself. I think they're awful and just thought I would share them. I like some unisex names, like Ryan, Dylan, and a few others, but these don't even seem unisex to me. They just seem like boy names.
