Today I had my check up with the perinatalogist that is overseeing my care since the DVT in July today. I'm exactly 28 weeks and after the ultrasound was told that the baby is doing amazingly well. He weighs right around 2 lbs 10 ounces, has super chubby cheeks and no hair! ( I was a little disappointed in this part
)
I was able to discuss my concerns with delivering at our local hospital with my regular OB and have since decided to have the baby at the bigger hospital that treated my DVT. Also, since I had my spinal fusion at age 16 I was told to prepare for a c-section and when I found out I was pregnant my regular OB didn't question it and said I would just be scheduled--once I decided to go with the perinatalogist today I found out that there is absolutely NO reason why I can't deliver the baby naturally. So here I am at 28 weeks pregnant, never even thought about actually going in to labor, have read nothing about preparing for it, have not registered for birth classes or anything and I'm now deciding to go 100% natural. I'm super excited because it has always been my wish to do things this way but SCARED out of my mind that I'm not prepared.
Sorry this is kind of long and ramble-y.. I needed to get it all out and this is what happened!
Re: AW/Vent--Met with the High Risk OB
Sounds like a good visit. You should still have plenty of time to sign up for classes and do all the reading. Good luck with the new plan!
