Re: ~ UO Thursday ~

  • - I am glad you get a belt for the Bumbo but people using stuff in the wrong way and acting like these are the most unsafe things in the world drives me nuts.   I mean don't put your baby on a counter unattended . . . common sense.   I have one and if LO likes it we will use it (not on a counter or when she is the wrong size for it).

    - I just don't understand why people want to tell you what they think you shouldn't be doing 9 months pregnant!   Um, I love my heels and yeah I am still going to wear them and I am still going to drive my car!   Stop wasting your breathe people I am not helpless or this fragile.   I am pregnant!

  • I hate competitive parenting.  It's not a contest about who achieves milestones earliest, i.e. STTN, rolling over, smiling, etc. Maybe I am just "too sensitive" because my daughter is a preemie and it usually takes them a long time to catch up.

In response to your first UO I just want to say that its not just babies falling off of counters. I have read where babies have fallen out of them sitting on the floor with a parent right there. Babies jerk and things happen fast. I honestly don't think a strap is going to help, I just think they are unsafe period.

I completely agree and posted something similar yesterday. People are ridiculous. DS lost his balance all the time and would tip over while learning to sit up (without the bumbo) - let's not even get in to learning to walk. Good thing it's a whopping 10 inches to the plush carpet below. Geez people, get real.

You can spin that ANY baby product is unsafe when used incorrectly.

    Exactly my point!

  • I really hope LO doesn't come today and there are no signs s/he willbecause I don't want him or her to share a birthday with MIL.

    I don't like chain restaurants.

DH is furious at his mother and sister and her family for going on vacation next week and coming back the day before my due date but I'm kinda relieved. It's several less people crowding us if the baby comes next week.

Then and now. How did my boy get so big?

  • I am tired of everyone expressing how swollen I am and how I should not be working anymore....... Well your probably right, I am very swollen and it kills me to try and not get up from my desk, but leave me alone... I do not want to waste 2 weeks (or more if LO comes late) sitting around my house not doing a dang thing, when I can be doing the EXACT same thing from my desk.... Playing on the internet becuase my temp is doing everything!

So you will still see me in a week probably and I will also probably be more swollen! BACK THE F OFF HAHA!

I'm so sick of people who act holier than thou about their "birth plan". nbsp;I know that my son's birth will probably not be ideal due to my health issues, but good grief... his and my health are my 1 priority, not whether or not I will be an earth goddess when/while he is born. nbsp; This is seriously not geared towards anyone on this board... more of a frustrated vent towards someone I know IRL who is all about a holistic birth. nbsp;Good for you, it just not realistic for everyone.

I definitely think it is less important than mom's and baby's health. I know a woman who had a breech baby but insisted on a vaginal delivery. She refused all fetal monitoring and cervical checks while in labor. She had her natural vaginal delivery but the baby had cord prolapse. Because she denied any monitoring at all, they have no idea how long she was denied oxygen and it will be years before they will know what if any damage there is.

Some are not that bad . . . I despise buffets though.  All the germs gross me out.

  • I agree on the Bumbo.

My UO is that I am pregnant, not some sort of nuclear bomb waiting to detonate.  I don't need to be treated with kid gloves.

Also, when the baby arrives, I will tell people.  I don't need a daily digest of Facebook posts asking me how I'm feeling, if I've progressed, etc. etc. etc.

This.....times 100.  And if *I* post on FB, no one even cares about what I posted, the whole comment thread turns into "no baby yet?!" I could post that WWIII just broke out and people would still say "Oh you're online....guessing no baby, huh?"  I mean I know people are just being attentive and show that they care, but plleeeaaasse enough already.

Added: I turned off the FB instant messaging b/c I was sick of people seeing I was online and sending me the "no baby?" messages.  So just a bit ago I checked my Gmail and apparently it has instant messaging too, and it showed I was online, so all of a sudden this window pops up from my best friend "Awww still no baby? :("  Mother F^%#@er!

Too funny that you said that because that's exactly what prompted this!  I had 2 non-baby related statuses that turned into baby stuff.  One was about having a dance party and the other about Laguna Beach being on MTV all day.  Both wound up being about baby by the  end.  For real people?   Ugh, get a life!
