elevating crib mattress

Anyone ever try to elevate the crib mattress for your multiples sharing a crib? We think the reason they won't sleep in their crib is partly because it is flat. Their bassinets in the hospital were tilted and they have been sleeping on boppy pillows since coming home. I'm thinking we could use towels under one side of the mattress and elevate it but I don't know if it is feasible. We are getting a second crib but don't have it yet. I really want to get them in their crib! Any advice?

Re: elevating crib mattress

  • For my son, we elevated his crib mattress by placing rolled up toilets underneath the mattress. He had really bad acid reflux.

  • I tried this and they slid. I'm not sure if I would put both in the same crib with it elevated.

That's what I'm afraid of. :sigh: Guess I'll be fighting the crib adjustment fight until they get used to it.

  • Do they have reflux?  If they do, talk to your doctor about getting a danny sling.  We used those when my girls were little.  I just dropped one end of the crib mattress to the lowest setting, and the danny slings kept the girls from sliding.
