DC - moving from the baby room

Yesterday I was picking up DD from DC and chatting with her teachers. DD's "best friend" is moving to the one year old's room next week so poor DD won't get to see her for a while. They mentioned that they won't move DD up until she is able to walk.

I have no idea how long THAT will be.

What is you DCP policy on moving LO from the baby room to the one's room?

Re: DC - moving from the baby room

  • We moved from infants to mobile infants when they started trying to escape and climbing the bookcases and into swings. They're still not walking.  It is also space dependent.

  • My little one just does Mother's day out but he will be moved this month.  He is a year old but not walking just yet but they are still going to move him.

  • DD just moved room this week to the mobile infant room (after her 1st birthday). i think i asked when she was 11 months if she would move even if she wasnt walking and they said she'd move at 12 months because she was mobile - didnt matter if she was walking or not.  She is walking (quite well now too) so it didnt end up mattering.

  • Things are a little different around here. Infants go up to 18 months, regardless of how mobile they are. Then you have the 18-24 months, the 2 year-olds, the 3-year olds and the 4-year olds. Kids don't usually move up until September, which is when school starts here.
