On Monday, Dd started Kindergarten at same school that she went to last year for the SN preschool. When I picked her up the first day, her teacher immediately walked up her up to my car in the carpool lane (they get her name and carpool # when you enter school grounds). It was quick and easy. However, when I went to get her today, it took them a really long time to get her to the car. They scared me half to death. It took 3 cycles of other cars coming through the carpool lane and getting their kids. They came up to my car twice in that time period to ask for her name and I could hear them calling her name over and over. I was terrified she was wandering around somewhere or that they had put her in a wrong car or bus. I sat their watching car after car pick up their kids and leave while they tried to find my DS. Would you consider this a first week glitch or should I be more concerned about this. I had previously voiced my concern about her ability to get to and from her classroom at her IEP at the end of the school year. The IEP team seemed to think she would be fine following the same procedures as the NT students. DD has been dx with Significanf Development Delay and she has a significant speech delay. She has a tendency to go where she wants instead of where she is supposed to. She is in a mainstream class but has support 50% of her day.
