...do you allow LO to have on a daily basis? I usually give DD a sippy with a little bit of water with her meals and pedi said she can have about 6-8 oz per day - I'm just curious how much others give
She gets a couple oz I think. We offer the sippy after meals (if during she just bangs it on the tray) and with snacks or a couple times mid play -- especially if hot out. Our pedi said she's unlikely to drink too much so we need not really restrict it.
I think I may be missing something. I have never had my pedi mention the possiblity of my DS having too much water... What is the reason behind this? My DS LOVES to drink water. He has about 18-20oz of formula a day, and finishes a sippy of water with every meal. He gets alot of water

There are risks of water intoxication. Also, since breastmilk/formula should be the primary nutrition until 12 months there is a concern that too much water can fill up LO's belly which could then cause them to not get adequate nutrition from breastmilk or formula.
My LO has about 4oz a day, with meals and at the park. He loves it! As long as the baby is eating enough food I don't think you really have to worry about too much water.
