Another BLW ?

My DD has been doing awesome with food, in fact I'm pretty sure she would eat all day if I let her! She'll try just about anything.

Anyway, lately we've been trying some more new foods, and she loves them, but for some reason she wants to be fed. We gave her some apple sauce, and I put some on a spoon and tried to hand her the spoon, but she wouldn't take it. Instead she just held her mouth open for me to feed her. Whats going on?? Is she just being lazy?  She did this too when I handed her a piece of chicken. She wouldn't grab it, she just bit it out of my hand.

    My 2 yr old still does this sometimes. How long has she been feeding her self with a spoon?  Did you try to hand her the spoon more then once and did she still not take it? If she is new to that food and a spoon just give her more time sometimes they just needs some encouragement or a reminder that they have hands too.

    She still has not gotten the hang of a spoon, so I don't mind feeding her. It helps minimize the mess too =).

    I just think its funny that now its led to her wanting me to always feed her. Now when she opens her mouth for me to put in food (ie chicken, broccoli) I'll put it in just enough until she bites down, then I let go so that she HAS to grab it herself.
