Hi!
I'm pregnant with #2 and will be doing a relay at 22 weeks. (17 miles total over 3 legs - https://www.blueridgerelay.com/)
I did this relay at 16 weeks with my first, but this time around my belly is much bigger sooner.
Anyone have experience with the support belts? I feel fine, but worried that in a month I'll need support. Recommendations?
The NYC Running Momma suggested this Medela one. https://www.amazon.com/Maternity-Support-in-Nude-S-M/dp/B0001BUK9O
Thanks!
Re: Runners: Maternity Support Belt?
I have the Gabrialla support belt. That one also seemed to come reccommended for runners and I've been using it for at least a week or more now.
Ive found that it definitely does help a little, but it doesn't do anything magical (like bringing running back to where you where pre-pregnancy). Maybe if I'm running in a few weeks/months the difference will be more significant.
I got it not because my belly bouncing was uncomfortable, but because I was starting to feel bladder pressure and sciatica pain.
Good luck!
I have the Gabriella one as well. I like it. I don't wear it as much as I should b/c I think i look funny in it (I know, horrible excuse!), but I do think it helps.
I used it starting around 20 weeks to help with my posture when running, to keep my back up straight. Now I use it help relieve some of the pressure off my bladder and also help with the pelvic pain when my run is over.
I found my on Amazon for only around $15 and it was well worth the price, imho.
Thanks! I'll check it out.
I have started to notice bladder pressure.
