Best Double Stroller Suggestions

I'm on the hunt for the perfect stroller (does that even exist?) My DD will be 3.5 when LO is born. I know she won't be in a stroller for a long time, but she still sits contently and I'd like something for when we go on neighborhood walks, the mall, etc.

Ideally I'd like a tandem jog stroller. I have a Chicoo Keyfit carseat that I'd like to attach to the stroller, at the beginning anyway. I'd also like a parent drink holder and a child drink holder as well. And a stroller that does weigh a million pounds or cost a million dollars would be great too.

Any suggestions?

  • I have a 3.5 year old and a 9 month old, and recently bought the Joovy Caboose on craigslist for like $60. It's not perfect, but it's pretty great. DD can hop on and off on the back perch, since she hates being harnessed in a seat and is too big for that anyway. The baby sits in front and I love that it's front-back not side-side, so I don't take up any additional room! It's actually really compact. It doesn't have a cup holder for me, but it does have a little mesh bag underneath for a small diaper bag. It's also not a great sleeping stroller for the baby up front, as it doesn't recline very far. But, for $60, and for what I wanted it for (trips at the zoo, walks to the park, etc.) it is perfect.

  • Look at the Baby Jogger City Select.

I love this stroller.  It has a car seat adapter you can buy so it can be good for both kiddies.  It is also compact enough to fold flat to fit in the trunk and luggage as well! It also has like 16 combinations of how you can manipulate the seats/configure the stroller.

This stoller can grow with your kids.  There is a second seat you can add on later.  The seats are weighted until 45 lbs.

Other strollers, like the Uppababy have the second seat only to 35 lbs.

The other thing, I find this stroller is easier to move around the city, good wheels and lots of room in the cargo hold below.

It is worth checking out, even if it is on the expensive side.  I wish I bought this stoller earlier!  I tell everyone now who is having their first child that if they are going to try for 2 somewhat close together, just get this stroller!

  • We have a Baby Jogger Summit XC double. I got this one vs. their Mini ones because I run with the jogger daily. I have a 2.5 year old and a 4 y.o and they still like to be in the stroller.
  • When I had 2 kids in a stroller I absolutely loved my Phil & Ted Sport with the jump seat.

  • We have the Baby Jogger City Mini double stroller and LOVE it! DS was 3 and DD was 6 months when we bought it and they still use it and love it today at 4 and 19 months. We are taking it to Disney in 3 weeks too. I bought ours from Amazon and got a great deal.
