So, DS is "learning" to sleep in his crib at naptime. Previously, he would ONLY nap in the swing. Now, he will fall asleep in his crib after I soothe him for a loooong time. But, he always wakes after 30-45 minutes. I try to go in and soothe him back to sleep but he won't have it... at least not while in his crib. If I pick him up and rock him or put him in his swing, he will go back to sleep for another 45-60 minutes. I can't put him back in his crib after he falls asleep again because he wakes right up. WWYD?
Re: Short nap but still tired
I'd just keep at it.
Aria will fuss for a couple of minutes after I lay her in her crib for a nap. I used to think that meant she wasn't going back to sleep and I needed to do something to help her. Then, one day while trying to soothe her, I had to pee... bad. So, I left her in her crib, turned on her sound machine and put her lovie in with her. When I went back in her room, she was sound asleep.
It turns out, I was keeping her awake by trying to soothe her. On her own, she does just fine.
Good luck!
Edit: The same applies when she wakes up mid-nap. I either leave her alone, or (if she's crying) go back in, calm her down until she's pretty much out, and put her back in her crib. She'll do the "fuss for a minute" thing again, then she's out.
Edit 2: When I say "fuss", I mean whine around. I go get her if she's actually crying. I'm not a fan of CIO.

Unfortunately, my babe does not fuss. He screams. Always. It's like he's scared. I don't get it...
