I woke up at five am this morning because my right side and back were killing me. Like, hurting so badly I was starting to feel nauseous. I went to the doctor the last time this happened (around 12 weeks) and they just said it was muscular pain caused by pregnancy. Alrighty then.
I took tylenol at 7am and it helped until around 11 am. I can't take any more until one, so I'm just hanging out with an ice pack on my back. The ice pack actually makes the pain a bit more bearable. Chasing the kids around all morning was exhausting and I'm really hoping they nap until at least 2:30.
If its not better by tomorrow I might call the doctor again anyway. This really sucks.
Re: This really effing sucks.
Oh no!! I'm sorry, LB!
Yesterday, I had this stabbing pain in my lower left abdomen ever few minutes for about 30 seconds. Ahhhh. Hurt so bad!
Yay! You can take meds now! GO GO GO!
Also, don't feel bad. That's what we're here for!
Got the meds!
I've really been thinking about going to a chiro. I think I'll ask my OB about it next time, because I've been having a lot of back issues and I feel like it is still too early to be as uncomfortable as I am.
(usually only lurk - hope you don't mind me posting!)
Have you done any prenatal yoga? If you can deal with the crunchiness, it is really great for back pain. It hurts at first, but as your body loosens up everything relaxes and the pain disappears. My instructor is also great about pointing out specific stretches for certain issues like sciatica and round ligament pain.
So sorry that you are in terrible pain. I definitely know what you are talking about...
I have gotten prenatal chiro adjustments and just has my second prenatal massage today--- life changing. I was up 6-8 times a night before I made this decision. I am so glad I did!
I don't mind crunchiness
I was planning on taking a prenatal yoga class but they cancelled the one through my hospital. I have several DVDs that I used early on and have since forgotten about. I should probably pull those back out.
This is a great tip. I started yoga a few days ago, but my hips have been killing since then. But it's good to know the body loosens up after a while.
I'm so sorry you are hurting.
I know how you feel. I've been having hip and back pain since 16w. I've started doing prenatal yoga in the morning and my midwife had me go get fitted for a support belt. The yoga is great for working out the overnight aches and pains.
I hope you feel better soon!
