My (pregnancy) workout blog

I keep a blog mostly for my own record (and it is really helpful for comparing this pregnancy with my first etc.) It is definitely not "entertaining" reading but I love seeing what other pregnant mamas are doing for their training so I figured I'd share in case anyone else feels the same way!

Re: My (pregnancy) workout blog

  • great job working out while you are pregnant.  I was at the gym today and saw a cute pregnant lady working out.  i was wishing I could have done that when I was pregnant.  I had such a rough pregnancy and couldn't do anything but walk.

  • I wish I had blogged some during this pregnancy, oh well.  Up until a week ago I had kept up with my crossfit workouts 2-3 times per week and ran up until week about week 35 when I just had too much cramping for it to be enjoyable.  I'm all about walking till this little guys arrives now.  Great job on the workouts and your weight gain is perfectly fine!

  • COB: Your blog is great. I was thinking of doing something similar when I get pregnant with #2. With #1 I made a lot of what I consider to be mistakes. PP I was 120# (I'm 5'2".) I was exercising 6x a week, 3x cardio, 3x weights. I ended up with very bad morning sickness in the first trimester and ate carbs constantly to help to feel better. I gained over 25# in the first trimester. Horrifying! I ended up gaining 66# overall.

I was determined to lose the pregnancy weight as fast as possible and was back to my PP weight in 7 months. I'm now 13 pounds below my PP weight and very comfortable at 107.

My plan for next time is to document my pregnancy weight gain, possibly by blogging. I'm hoping to keep up with exercise and eat as healthy as possible. I'm hoping not to gain more than 30# next time.

Thank you. Yes, I found that it was SUPER helpful for me to be able to look back at pregnancy #1 and compare - helps me to have reasonable expectations on a day to day basis. It is too easy to remember the handful of 10Ks etc. that I did at 25 weeks and think that all my workouts were great - definitely not the case!

The weird thing is that I feel like my nutrition and workouts have been similar both pregnancies but I only gained 18 pounds with #1 - I am already up 10 pounds this time and am only 23 weeks! I was back at 121 pounds 1 week postpartum and was hoping for the same this time but my priority is absolutely a healthy little baby so whatever happens happens:-)

  • hey at least you didn't gain 76 like I did :/
