Hey there ladies: I haven't been on much since my initial introduction. We are officially moving forward with fostering (with hopes of adoption). One of the licensing specialists came to do a walk through of our home & start the paperwork. Our PRIDE classes start Oct 2 & finish up right before Thanksgiving. I'm excited to start this process & am trying to stay hopeful that our "child" will come to us sooner than later; while also trying to stay realistic. Any tips from those of you who have fostered will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to the ladies who responded to my intro a while back & best wishes to you all!
Re: Good day today!
We have our licensing tomorrow for foster/adoptions. We had 10 weeks of classes and finished a few weeks ago, but our worker couldnt do the 2nd home visit until last week.
anyway, we haven't had a placement yet obviously, but the classes in our area (I'm in AZ now) sucked! Seriously, it was almost like intimidation. We tolerated the class because they wont be around us when we get a kid. Just remember that, and get clarification from your licensing worker because sometimes things said in class weren't always right. GL!
