... I know I am all worried over nothing but the thought of having a m/c has scared the crap out of me since finding out I was pregnant...
History: Thought I was 8.5 weeks, went to the Dr for u/s to find I was only 6 weeks, but they did see the heartbeat which is re-assuring. Got an at home doppler and found the hb at 9 weeks, but now at 10 weeks I cannot seem to locate it for the life of me (I am overweight so it might just be hard to find with the bit of chubbiness in my belly)...
I have an appointment this afternoon but I am just terrified of a MMC - I haven't had much cramping (just minor, which is supposed to be normal) and no bleeding since 5 weeks (after intimacy) and the u/s was after that...
I still have pregnancy symptoms, nausea - tired - etc. but for some reason I think I am trying to convince myself that I had a mmc just because if it does turn out to be the case then I will be "emotionally prepared" if there is such a thing for that situation...
I am probably freaking out over nothing, but for some reason I am just in that "this is too good to be true" phase and I am just waiting for something to go wrong... Stupid irrational fears that have me worrying so much... Only 4 hours until my appointment - might be the longest 4 hours of my life...
Re: Could use some re-assurance **Updated**
Try to relax. The stress is not good for you or your baby. Try to focus on being happy that you are currently pregnant.
I agree with CloudBee, stop using the doppler for now. If you can't, watch some youtube videos for suggestions on how to use it successfully.
Good luck today!
A friend told me yesterday that her doctor would not use the dopper at her 12 week appointment because he had made too many patients nervous when he couldn't find heartbeats. He won't use the doppler on patients until they are 16 weeks now.
dupe.
When you found the heartbeat I assume that was at 9 weeks given the adjustment, since it is nearly impossible to hear it with a doppler before nine weeks. The rate of miscarriage after hearing the heartbeat at nine weeks is 5 percent.
I also have a home Doppler and have found the heartbeat pretty much every day since 9 weeks. Yesterday I went to the OB and he could not find it at just about 12 weeks. I was not worried though because I knew the risk of a miscarriage is pretty low at this point. I ended up going for an US and the little one was moving all over the place. Trying to get the heartbeat is like hitting a moving target blind, try not to stress.
My co-worker is 1 day behind me and she went to an appointment yesterday (same dr. office) and they found the HB with the Doppler... I am just wondering if they dont find it if they will do an u/s to see the baby again - since the first one was so early and the next one is so far away... I'd rather just pay for the ultrasound to know everything is OK...
PLUS - we are planning on announcing this weekend at our BBQ - I don't want to get everyone all excited for no reason...
You gals rock - thanks so much for your time and thoughts and prayers... I really appreciate it.

Thanks so much! I hope if the Dr. can't find it we will do an u/s... I just want to make sure baby is OK...
Update:
Went to the Dr. and had a suprise ultrasound!!! woo hoo!!! Got to see the little tad-pole (including it's tail haha) and man that baby can swim, moving its arms and legs all over the place! Also got to see the heartbeat flickering on the screen...so... as usually... I am just crazy... Def putting the doppler away for a couple of weeks - I like basking in the post-I-saw-my-baby-on-a-tiny-tv-screen-glow...
