If so, what's holding you back? Wanting to wait til you meet the baby? You and SO not agreeing on anything? Just unable to decide?
I feel ridiculous - with Aaden we had our names picked out at 8 weeks (one for boy and one for girl) and now here I am at almost 31 weeks and still no decision. My problem is, I just can't decide which name on our list I like the best (or the least).
Re: Anyone else still undecided on a name?
First, yes, I want to see her first before making a final decision! And even with that decision aside, dh and I can't agree on too many names; we're taking a process-of-elimination route.
So, hopefully we'll have an agreed-upon top five by the time she decides to show up!
We still haven't narrowed it down, we have about 5 names for a girl and 2 for a boy. DH is having a hard time with the fact that you choose a name that the child will have forever.
Our top running boys name is Aaden Matthew - but we still haven't commited to it.
We haven't had more than one five minute conversation about names. We know that if it's a boy the middle name will be Joseph. That's it.
It's a mix of pretty much all the reasons you listed...since we don't know what we're having, I would like to see the baby before deciding on a name, my husband likes names that I hate and vice versa so we've just stopped talking about it. We know it's definitely important, but it's definitely not high priority right now.
It's funny, I know there's sooo much thought that goes into the baby's name but it seems like once you name them, that's it. That's their name and you don't really second guess it because you can't imagine them being anything other than who they are. I just wish I could decide on which name we think this baby girl is! At least we have it narrowed down to top 3. My girlfriend is due next week and she still has about 10 names on her list! LOL
We had tons of girl names and one mutually-agreed upon, but he is just not interested in any particular boy names. He says they don't motivate him and he's not particularly inspired by any. I have two I really like, but he's fighting me on my favorite for stupid reasons (it's the same name as an NFL player he doesn't like). My whole thing is this--unless we completely make up a name, someone, somewhere is gonna have the same name, and chances are there are several, and some of them might be a$$holes, so just suck it up.
I once dated a guy with the same name as my husband and I don't hold it against him!
We will not decide completely until he is born, though, and I think we're going to have a naming ceremony.
I like Aaden but DH likes Aiden. I personally don't like the second spelling but I guess I have to give H some say in the name
*raises hand*
DH & I have a short list, but we can't seem to decide on the final one. It's overwhelming to think that it's a name that LO will be stuck with for the rest of his life! We don't want something too common, but we both like traditional names. It's tough...

Our IVF miracle, Baby Boy M, arrived on 11/8/2012!
I know, we really do have to give them some say, don't we? Although, I think since we grow, carry and birth the baby our opinion should hold more weight, don't you think? Like 70/30?
I completely agree!
we aren't wanting to see the baby first but all the other reasons you listed are teh same as us. we have so much going on right now..it will happen:-)
We know we're having a girl and just can't find any names that we both love. We have a list of options that neither of us necessarily want to veto, but nothing seems to stand out. We spent so much time thinking about names in the first 20 weeks that I had to stop thinking about it and start getting ready for the actual baby!
At this point the plan is to just wait to meet her, then check our list of possible names and see if any of them really seem to fit her. Hopefully one of them will work!
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
