"Natural Birth my xxx"
Anybody else watching NB videos on youtube?
I found one that I thought was hilarious. The woman posted like 6 videos. She was all calm and doing really well, then there is the transition video.
She started to lose her cool (well ya), and while in her tub she says "natural birth my @ss" and then proceeds to beg her doula to call 911, and give her meds. She made it though though. It just gave me a good laugh to hear it.
I made my DH watch it, because I wanted him to realize that even though I say I want a natural birth, there will be a point at which I'm likely to regret my decision. I just want him to support my decision now, and realize that no matter what I say, I'll be alright and happier once I get to the other side med free. (I'm having a home birth, so it won't be an easy option, I'd have to transfer, which I *really* don't want).
Anyways, anybody else spending hours watching videos? Any good ones, or funny moments you've seen. Anything you've learned?

This makes me laugh! Yes, I spend way too much time watching natural birth videos. My husband thinks this is very ill-advised, but I want to be prepared for the worst. I saw a video of a woman who keeps saying f*&^^! F&^*(!
I thought, oh well, my Mom's heard the f-bomb before, but I really don't want to drop it multiple times in front of her. I'm trying to come up with some swear words that I can pull out if needed without offending my wonderful mom
Hahaha I haven't watched a whole lot of unmedicated birth videos because they freaked me the heck out. I wanted to have an unmedicated birth and watching the videos of women in the worst pain of their lives made me not want to be pregnant anymore. I ended up having an unmedicated birth and I WAS one of those women. Go figure.
I had a fast labor and I was in transition but didn't know it when I was waiting in the ER for someone to get me to take me to labor and delivery. Someone in the ER said "Look at her, she's having a baby" to which my head practically spun around on my neck as I turned toward the man and said "No sh*t", then turned to my husband and said loudly "This f*cking hurts" then turned to the nurses station and said "What is everyone waiting for!? Why isn't anyone coming to get me!?" Everyone just kinda stared at me.
When we got up to labor and delivery my sister said "Don't you want the room with the birthing tub?". I yelled at her "No, I don't want the tub. Stop bringing up the tub. I'm getting an epidural. I want it now." Then proceeded to ask every nurse I came in contact with "Are you here to give me an epidural?". I was already 8 cm when they checked me and had only been having contractions for two and a half hours so it ended up not even being an option.
Then for some reason everyone kept offering me chapstick. I guess my sister read that laboring women get dry lips. After the third or fourth offer for chapstick I yelled at the top of my lungs "No. I don't want any G*ddamn chapstick! The next person who offers me chapstick is leaving!"
I'm normally the kind of person that works very hard not to offend anyone and be nice to everybody but... I was a total B*TCH and am lucky to have such awesome support to understand that sometimes people say and do things they would normally never do when they are in pain. And I'm sooooooo glad I didn't have time for meds because it really was what I wanted and was so happy with my birth experience after the fact.
The only time I swore was after a really really intense contrax. (It dialated me from an 8 to 10!) I turned to Dh and said "Shiit just got real
I was coping well before that and thankfully they eased up after that bc I was pushing. Otherwise I would've been mother-effing everyone in my room!!
My fav video was of a laboring woman in a birth tub at home. Her 4yo-ish daughter was in the tub with mom playing barbies. Melted my heart and made me realize I wanted a HB for my next!
We watched a lot of videos in our Bradley class with DS, including a c-section video (O.M.G.!!!) They were a little shocking at first, mostly because of the camera being right there on the woman's parts, but I think they really helped me know I could do it. I never watched any on Youtube though. I did cry during TBOBB when Ricki Lake gave birth!
I didn't really have a bad transition because I dialated pretty quickly, but after my water broke at 10 cm, I started throwing up and getting a little pissy. The OB told DH to lower the back of the bed a little while I was pushing, so he did.....just as I started to have a contraction. I turned to him and yelled, "F&%$!!!!!!!! STOP MOVING THE BED!!!!!!!!" My sister had gone out into the hallway and she said she could hear me out there lol. I apologized way later but he said it was no big deal.
OMG! I'm CRYING I'm laughing so hard!
I've been meaning to check up on natural birth videos on YouTube and get some research in on it before my big day gets here. The more I know, the better this will go...
Sounds like I should tell my husband to ignore me if I start whining for medications and stuff. I hope I'll have the presence of mind to remember not to think about turning to these things, but in case I'm not with it, it's probably a good idea he knows that I'm just talking out of pain and I don't really mean it.
