Registry Stalking

I am going to try really hard not to be a registry stalker. I'll need to check occasionally since I have two registries with some duplicates, but I am usually the one to preach that guests almost always buy at the last minute so registry stalking is futile. 

Well, the invitations to my first shower arrived yesterday so I logged in to Target to make sure I had everything updated and ready to go. And I noticed that someone has already bought the girls their Sleep Sheep. 

Stupid hormones, I got all teary-eyed.  Let this be a lesson to you ladies, do not stalk your registries.

Single Mother by Choice. Life didn't work out the way I planned so I did it on my own. IUI #s 1-3, unmedicated = BFN, IUI #s 4-6, 50mg Clomid, Ovidrel = BFN IVF #1: 23R, 20M, 17F. 5 day transfer 2 blasts. 2 Snowbabies BFP 6dp5dt, Beta #1 7dp5dt = 58, Beta #2 9dp5dt = 114, Beta #3 10dp5dt = 187 1st Ultrasound = 5/3, not much to see yet. 2nd Ultrasound = 5/17, TWINS!!! Hospital Bed Rest at 32 weeks due to pre-ecclampsia and severe edema. Audrey Grace, 5lbs9oz, & Lydia Louise, 6lbs, born via emergency c-section on 12/6/12 at 36w1d My IVF Journey

    I tried really hard not to stalk my registry but it seemed like no one understood how to use it so I would constantly get calls. "Oh hey I bought this can you take it off the registry for me"..... I was really glad some people bought off registry so there was some surprise gifts at the shower.

    I was referring to the girls that come on here with the "my shower is three weeks away and hardly anything has been purchased yet. what should I do?".

    My answer is usually "stop stalking your registry".

    It just made me giddy to see the first item purchased.

    I actually asked my SIL to monitor my registries for me (because there are alot of duplicates from dif sites) so she can update if someone bought X at target, she will take it off the amazon registry....so I don't stalk.....i wanna be surprised...

    Amazon is the worst for temptation because you can actually see who bought it, too.  It's soooo hard not to peek!

    I had childbirth class yesterday, though, and part of that was the basics of infant CPR...  I was fully certified in that a few years ago, but hearing the review of it yesterday with the instructor talking about a scenario of me walking into my baby's nursery and finding him blue and lifeless...  I about cried then and there, and it completely freaked me out.  After that, I was so relieved when I was making an adjustment to my Amazon registry yesterday and saw that someone had bought our Snuza Halo!  It can't do CPR for me, of course, but I at least felt better knowing that if I were alerted by this gift, my knowledge and I might stand a chance at helping baby if he's not breathing!

    I like this idea, I'm going to ask one of my DS to do this for me. I love the surprises

    I've also been trying to not registry stock, however, I come from the school of thought that if I want if for baby I need to buy it myself.  Because of this I have been using the BRU coupons and sales.  I usually go to the registry to see if an item on there is on sale or not.  Everytime I see something has been purchased I feel a little overwhelmed too.

    I registered for Target online. Big mistake! They keep changing things from being available online & in store to just online - etc.  Many of the women coming to my shower are not going to be internet savvy so I really like to keep everything available in store. I have to make sure I keep an eye on the registry to make sure the items are available. Not that I don't enjoy peaking ;) I know most people will wait until last minute to buy gifts and my shower isn't until early October so it's kind of  a waste, but it makes things "real"

    I started my target registry in store, but really did most of the work online. I just made sure when I was searching for items, I always selected "in-store only". There were a few items that are only available online, but I am not expecting people to purchase everything. I have a larger registry at Buy Buy Baby which is my master wish list. The Target registry is for an out of town shower so I was just trying to find a good range of prices and options.
