Vent BM is really irritating me!

Ok, so we usually get SS Friday-Sunday. BM two months ago moved 2 hours away and said at the time that she would still bring him to spend the weekend with us. Well, she was fine doing this every weekend, for a couple months. And then out of the blue on Friday she said she needed for us to meet her halfway. No big, but Sunday we had church and then DH had to work right after so he texted her that he wouldn't be able to meet her and all her response is is "k" then he said "ok...umm...so maybe tomorrow?" and she said "k". Monday morning he texted her at 9am because it's an hour drive there and an hour back and he had to be at work by 1pm and he told her this she didn't text him back till 12pm and all she said was "Can you keep him one more day? I'll pick him up." Then DH texted her this morning and asked when she would be by to pick him up at 3pm she texted him and said "I thought we were meeting you half way" Then why the H did you say you were going to pick him up???? I'm so freaking annoyed..... Sorry so long I just needed to vent.

Sooo... why haven't you gotten a written agreement as to who is doing the driving/where/when pick up is? Reality is, since you never established anything in writing or signed by anyone or notarized or anything, she can do whatever she wants really. I suggest you get this spelled out and added to your CO or at least written out and notarized signed by both parties. This will not end well.

^^ This. Get something legal written up so that everyone is on the same page. What will eventually end up happening is BM won't want to meet halfway anymore so your husband will have to drive the entire way in order to see his child. Then he won't want to drive all the way back to do drop off and BM will end up calling the police. I know it sounds drastic, but it happens a lot.

I agree with what PPs said. Also, be sure to document all of this. Every time she asks you to keep LO another day b/c she can't make it, every time she renegs on a drop off or pick up. All of it. Chances are things will get litigous again and this type of behavior looks bad on her.

Thanks everyone, I've never had to deal with this before, so I wasn't quite sure what to do.

Oh a little more information I found out. The court ordered visitation but let them work out the terms separately. Would he have to go back to court to add anything to it? And to the last poster, it's nice having extra time with him but once I get a job (and I'm actively looking) nobody will be here to look after him, since we'll both be working. And she gave us no notice to make other arrangements. And it would be nice to have some notice so we can plan to do things with him. She said this Friday she'll bring him the whole way but we shall see.....
