So a few months ago we spoke about actively trying to have children, did some research and decided to wait a few months to see how AF was stabilizing or not. I have PCOS and have been taking Metformin for about 6 months give or take. Lost 40+ Lbs, which resulted in bringing my AF back down below 35 days... Which shocked us all. DH is transgender (FTM) so we always knew IUI with donor sperm would be our best route. Set up an appointment with our new RE for Sept 5th, which is why I've been asking so many questions and the answers lead me in the right direction. We always wanted kids, one of those things we talked about up front from the very beginning. I'm from Alabama so most of my friends/family/cousins were already pregnant by 18. I'm actually the oldest to not have kids yet and after a while it becomes kinda sad. It's extremely stressful when trying to explain to others who aren't having the clock tick. Mines started to become that one goal, and last week DH said (to my surprise) that we need to set up an appointment with a RE and start working towards a baby. He's a teacher, loves kids. Think that's about it.

Posted a little something in roll call and TTT, but here's more:
Live in Minneapolis, wife (S) and I have been married for a little over 2 years. We have been together for 8 years.
We conceived recently using anonymous, frozen donor sperm on the last vial from our preferred donor - and it was the freebie because I had the "Buy 5 get 1 free" deal from Fairfax Cryobank. As you get to know me, you will understand how hilarious this is, as I tend to be pretty damn frugal and always look for deals.
We have 2 furry kids who we love tremendously, Nigel is a 2 year old cat, Duncan is a 5 month old Doberman. Duncan has some serious health issues, and is generally a challenge anyway as he is mega-energetic and still very much all puppy.
We are currently lucky enough to have S's Dad and Uncle visiting us for a month, they are remodeling our second floor for us and getting it "Baby ready!" We are PSYCHED, but stressed.
What else ... we're both competitive athletes (or former, to be honest), and are just reaching the stage in life where we are being forced to realize all of the damage we've done to our bodies. It's not a fun place to be.
Oh yeah, I'm 38 and S is 41.
So nice to meet you all!

I'll be 30 in a couple of months, wife will be 27. We met and started dating 4 years ago and have both always wanted kids. We somehow came to the conclusion that we should both go to grad school at the same time. It was a rough two years financially, emotionally, and mentally but we made it through. I can't say I'd recommend it to anyone. We both just graduated in May and we decided to move back to our home state (Utah) to be closer to our families. She got a job before we moved and after applying for a gagillion jobs, I finally got one this week. So now we are jumping on the TTC ride.
We have a KD in mind and are hoping things work out, if not we have a few other possibilities to explore. I just started temping and using OPK's. I have pretty irregular cycles and for probably no reason all think I am not in the least bit fertile. I hope I'm wrong, just one of those feelings.
Thanks for the welcome, looking forward to getting to know you ladies better as we progress on this fun filled parenting journey

Ok, not really sure how to use this quote thing but I'm trying it out!
Yes - we are using AICGB - our first IUI fell on a weekend so of course it was a little extra panic of getting someone on call - but it all went well (we hope it went REALLY well). So far we like them a lot - we were so excited when we found their office and it was ridiculously close to us.
