We're expecting twin girls in a few weeks. My husband name one Allyssa and like Allison. Do you guys think this is too close for twin names.

i'm not a fan of the names as they are not my style but i think they sound good together and are different enough. Though I now that i post this i see that they would have one nick name ALLI and ALLY in common ...

but if you like it dont let anyone impose their feeling on what you like because they dont like it.

Too close. I'm not even really a fan of them having the same initials, but I'm Southern and really wanted each girl to have her own unique monogram. We're big on monograms.

I dont really like the whole matchy match twin names. Plus two friends of mine growing up that are twins were names Jeff and Jason and they told me they always hated it.

A girl I know named hers Cynthia and Sydney. Not that close but when you are saying them over and over together...bad idea.

She said she regrets that choice all the time.

I think they are too similar. My girls names are very different and I still call them the wrong name ALL the time.

Mine have the same first initial (which I hate, but it was just the names that we liked best) but I think they're way too close. How do you determine which one will get the nickname Ally? Because both of those names lend to that nickname.
