As I have gained about 30 pounds this pregnancy, only walk on occasion and now sit in a post-lunch stupor, I'm thinking about what I'll do to regain my pre-pregnancy body. I think I'd like to try some different workouts once I'm past 6 weeks pp -- Pilates, Zumba, etc. Also, I really enjoyed stroller exercise classes with DS, so I want to sign up for some of them before I have to go back to work. My shallow goal is to return at 12 weeks pp, looking like I didn't just have a baby. So tell me, what are your post-LO workout plans? I need all the inspiration I can get.
Re: Post-baby workout plans
I want to do the C25K once the doctor clears me to exercise again. I have to go back to work after four weeks so there is no way I'm going to walk in looking like I didn't just have a baby! haha.
workout plans.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahah
*gasp*
ha.
I am going to need all the motivation I can get. I never finished losing all the baby-weight from DS (he was 2 when I got pg again!) So even though I am only up 20ish right now, I am in a scary weight range.
I'll probably start with 30 day shred. It's quick and easy to do at home. I also have a treadmill at home, so I would like to get running again so I can do at least one 5K in the spring.
Really...I just need someone to show up at my house everyday and force me to exercise!

OMG, I blocked that evilness from my mind. I should probably start there too. It does have the advantage of being a short workout.
I did WW up until I got pregnant and will be right back on it one month after having baby. I also already hired a personal trainer for 18 (2x/week for 9 weeks) sessions and will be running 2-3 of the days I'm not with the trainer.
I worked too hard all of 2011 to not bounce right back. I also have 3 weddings in 2013 so that is major motivation too.
I already signed up for a half in March, so I will start C25K as soon as I am cleared to get back in running shape and work up from there. I will probably also do the 30DS to get myself ready to go back to Boot Camp, though I won't have a lot of time away from that since I am still doing it.
The worst part for me will be my diet. DH and I were just talking about it last night. We are going to go back to the expensive way - buying bagged salad and precut fruit. I need to readjust my portion sizes and get back into vegetables which I have been pretty grossed out by in the last 8 months.

I'm in the Lehigh Valley, so not far. I like this idea!
Looks like I signed up in January last year, so I'll keep you posted! Weather has been terrible the past two years, but you get to go into the stadium and whatnot afterward. No strollers, which means childcare, but also easier running.
I've gained an appropriate amount of weight for a pregnancy and I'm proud of it...no bragging that I've only gained X amount of weight here...that baby needs to grow
That being said, I've signed up for an obstacle race called the Spartan Sprint (I'm sure many of you have heard of these types of races). I'm running it with a bunch of other women, lots of them young mom's who are looking for companionship and support while trying to get into shape/get stronger/lose baby weight/etc...I'm really pumped about it!! It's in April so I'll have 6 months to train!

Sounds good! definitely keep me posted.
I'm planning on running two 5Ks in the spring [one in March and one in April], so I'll start training for that as soon as I can. Our university also offers discounted personal trainer sessions at the campus gym, so I might get a few of those to get my butt in gear. I had 45 lbs. to lose the last time and have only gained 20lbs. this time, so I'm hoping getting in shape won't be nearly as hard as the last time.
My sister is also a Zumba instructor and offered to help get me back into shape. I'm afraid she might kill me.
Everyone's running goals makes me feel highly inadequate in my plan to walk and do some minor weight lifting for post-baby workout.
But my husband and I will probably do a modified version of P90X. I really love the yoga DVD off of that series, although goodness knows when I'll have an hour and a half to myself to do that.
Sometimes, I'm hilarious.
I've gained almost 50 lbs.
I've started eating a little more strictly and yet the pounds seem to be multiplying. So I also have my work cut out for me. I was running half marathons before PG but I'm not sure I want to do that kind of mileage anymore. As soon as my Dr. clears me I plan to start running following the Galloway program (3 days a week) up to a 10K, riding my recumbant bike 2 days a week and doing the post pregnancy Bootcamp DVD I bought.
My SO proposed so I am super motivated to be back in shape so I'm not a fat cow for my wedding photos. Vain, I know. Whatevs.
The yoga is the one part of P90X that I really hated! I disliked how long it was!
I want to do the 30 day shred again, so I might start with that. My friend also bought a Zumba video so I might do that with her as well. We used to do either p90X or Zumba at school after work twice a week, so we might just now do it at her house.
Running, for sure. I want to EBF for at least 6 months and I know from nursing DS1 that it probably won't be realistic for me to leave and take a class somewhere or go to the gym for at least 4-6 weeks.
I went for my first run exactly two weeks after having DS1. I ran one very slow (15:00) mile. That's it. A few days later, I ran two miles, and by about 4 weeks PP I was back to my normal routine of running 3 miles most days of the week. To me, running is just so simple and easy (logistically speaking). You just put on your shoes and go. Plus, I don't have to get in my car and drive somewhere to do it. It takes about 30 minutes start to finish (3 miles). Done.
ETA: This ^ plan is all assuming I have another uncomplicated vaginal delivery. I also didn't tear at all, so I'm not sure if running would be feasible two weeks PP if I end up needing stitches this time, or (obviously) if I have a c/s.

OMG, I never could have run 2 wks pp. Here's to no tearing this time!
