I have Dr. Sears Fussy baby book and it is my girl to a T. There is a section where a mama writes about how her baby gets really overstimulated when they are anywhere other than her house, or the car, and that's my girl. she REALLY freaks out, and can cry this shrill scream like someone is trying to kill her, and she can keep it up for hours. literally.
We are going on vacation tomorrow, which means a crowded airport and two flights. anyone have any advice on what to do? I was thinking of somehow having a soothing sound for her, that mimics the noisemaker in her room, but i can't just play it out loud all through the airport, and i am doubting she would want to listen to it on the headphones of my ipod but any other thoughts? I want to make this trip as smooth as possible for her, she seems so distraught, and I don't want her to be scared; I am going to wear her as much as possible, but even that does not calm her, it actually seems to heighten her aggrevation when she is upset. any advice would be fantastic. thanks mamas!
Re: anyone have a high-needs baby?
We use the soothing sounds girraffe for car trips. We went on a 7 hr. drive and it was a life saver.

thank you all!! she does have a giraffe that plays music, but only about 60 seconds and then i have to wind it again
I like the idea of having her soothing sounds tucked into my pocket, that really might work. Thank you so much; this should be quite an adventure, but hopefully she will be calm and sleepy!
