C-sections

From August 2012 Boards

Hi Ladies,I am new to these boards.  I've lurked from time to time, but have never really posted. I'm due August 18th, however DD is breech and I'm having a scheduled C Section this coming Monday.  I'm very nervous.  My DS is 18 years old (Really starting over) and he came out vaginally in 2 pushes, so I don't know what to expect with a C Section. I'm also nervous about her hips and legs when she will be born from what I've read about Frank Breech babies (Google is definitely not my friend) lol.  You ladies seem like wonderful support, so any advice from any breech C Section mommies would be appreciated. Thanks and congrats to all of the recently new mommies.

Re: From August 2012 Boards

  • My son Frank wasn't Frank breech (lol) but he was Footling breech.  From what I understand most breech c sections result in a perfectly normal baby.  The recovery from my cs was not that bad, just wished I would have put a step stool next to the bed to help with getting in and out.  As far as the hospital stay, we went home a day early, only stayed two nights.  You will do great!

  • My LO was frank breech and is fine. We had to get an u/s on his hips at 6 weeks and the u/s dr, tech, and our ped gave him the all clear for displasia.  I'm trying to get into the mindset of not worrying about something that I have no control over/hasn't happened yet. I spent the last 3 wks of pregnancy like this (for other reasons) and everything worked out. Try not to worry about it, but know hip displasia can be corrected when caught early on. It's also standard practice to do a hip u/s when the baby is frank breech. Also, Dr. Google is terrible and should be banned during pregnancy. Stick out tongue
