I had a close call a couple weeks back when I was tested with a difficult face to face pregnancy announcement, but I got up-dusted myself off-and moved forward.
Now, I feel it those slumpy feelings resurfacing. That part of me that feels sad and empty handed. Maybe it is because summer is coming to an end and the distractions of fun in the sun go with it. Maybe it is my wacky hormones (I am on cd45 with no AF in sight as my body attempts to reset itself after all the cycling this past year). Or, maybe it is just plain sadness and disappointment that cannot be kicked.
The cycling break is good. I still feel the break is a good decision for me physically and (hopefully) emotionally, but the sad empty handed feelings are creeping back in and that freaks me out! I have been doing a good job of keeping those dark sad thoughts at bay. I have spent the last month or so feeling sort of like my old self again. I just dread the feelings that are creeping back in. IF sucks.

Oh hon - I am so sorry you are in the effin rotten IF slump. I wish I knew what to say but the reality of it is if we lived closer I would be over your house (or you over mine) with a bottle of wine and some toffee almond ice cream. The only thing that kept me from feeling these slumpy feeling when we are on a cycle break is my biological clock hitting me over the head like a ton of brinks screaming - YOU ARE OLD!!! Then I just go in to panic mode

Much of what you wrote sounds very familiar to me...similar emotions as I went through my forced break this spring.
I really do wish there was a lovely, safe, drink-laden island where IFV could meet up IRL whenever needed! I'm not quite in a slump at the moment (trying to maintain the whole annoying "cautious optimism" outlook right now), but I can still recognize it slinking about just beneath the surface.

((HUGS)) I feel the same way. Every time the seasons change I feel it for sure - it just seems evidence of more time passing, or I remember back to the year before, and the year before that... it's hard not to get sad.

RPL, I think I could have written 90% of this. You are totally not alone.
We also got another "surprise" thrown at us as a friend announced her 2nd in the past week, too. IF takes so much bottling up, which is incredibly difficult. People don't offer compassion, instead it's veiled promises of things they don't have the promise to make, like "it will work".
Doesn't this feel like a constant wave? You get to be in a good place and can compartmentalize your feelings and then it's an announcement or time to cycle again. It's agonizing.
