Ds3 gets pumped BM and takes 4-5oz per bottle. He eats every 3 hrs during the day (approx 730am to 1030pm) and is waking up for one bottle between 4-5am. I'm not sure how much he weighs now. He was 11lbs 8oz at his 1 month appt
My LO is 16lbs (such a big boy!!) and is all over the place. Lately he was taking anywhere from 2-5oz depending on how long it's been between feedings.
At LO's appointment today, the pedi said he should be more spaced out between feedings. She would like me to try to space it out 3-4 hours.
Mine takes about the same (3-4 oz.) and the pedi didn't say anything about that being odd. He's been going longer in between feedings and sleeping well at night too (knocking on wood.)
My little guy eats anywhere between 19 and 30 oz a day. He eats 4oz at a feeding. During the day, it's usually between 2 to 3 hours for a feeding. At night, he sleeps for about 7 hours. He eats a little more before bed.

Did she give you any tips on doing this? Mine wanted me to space out too, but I'm not just going to let my kid scream if he's hungry 2 hours after his last feeding!!
Anyways- I EBF but based on what I pump, my LO takes 3-4 oz every 3-ish hours technically. However, he is a suuuuper long eater (always 40 minutes at the breast), so by the time he's done, it's usually about 2 hours from the end of one feeding to the beginning of another.
ETA: he will be 3 months old this week (technically, I am a May Momma, but my due date was June 3 so this is where my home always was!!)

wow... Mine eats a little less than 2.5oz every two hours during the day (pumped). I'm sure she gets some more in the morning when I wake up, but anything more than 2.5 during the day she just spits up.
My son is taking 4oz. every 3-4 hours during the day. He takes 6oz with cereal before bedtime (around 10pm) but sometimes he is still hungry so we just give him more in 2oz increments until he is happy. He is right on track for weight and height (he was 6lb 15oz at birth) so the doctors are not concerned with him getting too much food. He took 8oz the other night....it was crazy!!! But the doctor said let him eat until he is satisfied as babies won't overeat. He has raised a lot of babies so I trust him.

Thanks for the responses! I felt like I was giving him the right amount, but his reaction and saying that was alot kind of threw me. I think Ill keep our routine of 4 oz when he wakes up, 3 throughout the day, and 4 at night.

She told me if he cries to try and sooth him in other ways like by taking him out in the stroller or for a car ride to calm him. She said to try to space it out gradually like if he is hungry at 2 1/2 hours instead of 3, it's not a big deal.
I'm trying but I'm like you; I don't like my baby screaming because he's hungry.
DS gets 4 ounces of BM or formula every 2.5 - 3 hours during the day. Sometimes he naps for a 2-3 hour stretch so it may be a bit longer of a stretch if he's sleeping. He gets 4 oz before bed and that usually holds him (bedtime is 930- some nights he wakes any time between 3 and 5 to eat, other nights he sleeps through til anywhere between 6-8 am!)

4 oz every three hours (with an eight hr stretch at night). DD weighs 12 lbs - the pedi said this was exactly what she should be eating
