Didn't take them. Hubs and I read a coupe books and we were good to go. Nothing can prepare you for childbirth completely, but I say knowledge is power, so take them if you think it will hep you, especially if you want to try for an unmedicated birth. I just ended up on bedrest and wasn't able. GL!!
I registered for the "Preparation for Childbirth Class" at my hospital. It is a 3 week series for 2 hours on Wednesday nights. So far, I have just been to one class and I found it very helpful.
Class 1 was all about labor - with a heavy emphasis on early labor. As a twin mom, I may be having a scheduled c-section, but it is entirely possible I might go into labor early so I liked this part. The we did the big hospital tour, which I liked too. At the end, they showed videos of both vaginal and c-section births. I skipped that. I do not need to see that... EVER.
Class 2 is about postpartum care, newborn care and infant CPR
Class 3 is about breastfeeding.
The class was $100 and my mom went with me. I was the only single mom there, the only twin mom there and definitely the oldest, but everyone was very nice and welcoming. They were more fascinated by the twins than me being a single mom. LOL
Since I paid for that class I can tae any others for free so I am also registered for the C-Section class. And depending on how the breastfeeding section of class 3 goes, I may register for a breastfeeding class too.

My IVF Journey
By the time we would have scheduled a class, we already knew I'd have to have a CS because of Claire's spina bifida and because both girls were transverse and then breech, so we didn't do a class.
