My mom keeps bread in a drawer below the silverware. My BFF keeps hers in her microwave!?!? I brought a loaf of bread to the new house today and realized there is no obvious place to put it. Where do you keep yours? Also the cabinets & shelves in the pantry are not tall enough to fit a box of cereal...any ideas?

Re: where do you keep your bread? NBR
Somewhere buried in our moving boxes is our bread box. For now, the loaf is sitting on the counter.
For your cereal, I'd get containers with the sealable pour spout for them that fit in the cabinet and use those.

We keep our bread in our dish drainer on the cabinet. We have a dishwasher, so it's not really ever used for dishes... Cereal on it's side in the cabinet.
Yep! Except sometimes I have so much cereal, that bread gets moved to on top of the microwave, in this bowl we have on there. I always wanted a breadbox, though.
Our bread is in the fridge...crystallizing particles bedamned - we seem to go through it quickly enough that it doesn't go bad before we eat it. Also, in first grade we did a bread mold experiment, and I remember that the quickest molding was the piece of bread that was in a breadbox!
As to cereal, we just moved & had the same problem. Our cereal is now on the side in the cabinet and it's been working fine. If you're like us, there are too many other things to spend $ on than cereal containers in a new-to you house!
This.
Actually, my Mom used to put our bread in the microwave. It was an easy place to stash it!
We keep ours in a bread box on the counter. Its a nifty one from the 60's I found at a yard sale.
As for cereal, we lay it down so you see the top of the box or we take it out of the box and just keep it in the bag and just use a clothes pin to keep it shut. Since it clear, you can always see what it is.

We keep our bread in a breadbox on the counter. I've never even thought about keeping it in the fridge, hmm.
Our pantry shelves are tall enough to fit the cereal boxes standing up. I would try placing them on their side in the pantry.
This is where our cereal is, too
Theres a loaf of bread on the kitchen counter and a loaf in the fridge.
Bread is on top of the fridge. Cereal is not as popular so it's in the pantry. Since B's gotten bigger we do keep a tupperware full of Cheerios on the counter for quick access for snacks or to grab when we're on the go.
