Any LOs have eczema? My DD has it all over her body and I'm putting on
the lotion my pedi gave me, was wondering if anyone had any other
advice? I was thinking an oatmeal bath...
We use California Baby Super Sensitive Body Wash/Shampoo, Mustela Eczema bath oil (don't remember what its really called) and alternate between Cetaphil Cream, Aquaphor and Hydrocortizone lotion. The combo of all these things has helped DD.
Thanks for the suggestions. I actually gave DD a bath with regular oatmeal ground up in the coffee grinder and then the aquaphor ointment seems to be doing the trick.
If you've exhausted all your efforts on creams, lotions, jellies, Rxs and baths/soaps, etc. I would encourage you to explore going gluten free and consider switching to cloth diapers.
We were up eczema creek, and have only recently found relief switching back to CDs and giving up gluten in both mine (we BF) and DS2's diet.
Do some research, and don't give up. It was very important to me to find an answer, and none of our docs had the answers -- we found them by experimenting and being open to all the possibilities.
Our LO had excema pretty bad, and we ended up testing her for food allergies... she's allergic to wheat, eggs, and dairy. Since eliminating those from her diet, her excema has improved, but we still have a skin regimen that works great! 1. Bathe or moisten skin- we use Cetaphil Restoraderm wash 2. Lotion- we use Cetaphil Restoraderm Lotion 3. Ointment- we use aquaphor.
