PreNatal Vitamins...

Is anyone else taking the VitaFusion PreNatal GUMMY Vitamins. I started them this morning and notice they have NO IRON. Should I go back to the pills?

  • I take them and they are awesome.  But yes they have no iron in them so you can just take a seperate iron supplement.

You can just do this.  I take 2 Flintstones Complete a day and they are just the same as prenatal's also.

  • I take the gummy vitamins because they others are way too harsh on my stomach. I don't take an iron supplement, but I make sure to eat plenty of iron rich foods. It's easier for your body to absorb nutrients through food anyway. Unless you are having issues with not getting enough iron, I think as long as you eat iron rich food you'll be okay, but I would ask your OB/midwife just in case :)

  • The Vitafusions make me gag and feel nauseous! They leave a nasty after taste. I had to give my bottle away to a friend
  • Not everyone needs iron so some pills leave it out.

In fact, if you don't need it, you shouldn't take it because too much iron builds up in your blood and is not a good thing. However, if your care provider recommended you take iron, I would either add just an iron pill to what you're taking or go back to the vitamin with the iron - you don't want to become anemic.

  • I take them and have no problem with low iron or anything.  They do taste kinda funny so I take them at nite and that seems to eliminate that problem.

This is for me.  Not to mention the iron was making me severely constipated, so this was my solution.  I think they taste yummy too.
