Weaned from breast shield, now spitting up

I have been using a shield since DD was a few days old due to latch problems. DD is now 12 weeks and she has been latching just fine without the shield. The problem is that now she is spitting up all the time! She spits up during a nursing session while she's bring burped, after she's done eating, an hour after she eats, all the time. Is this normal? 

 She is emptying my breast in half the time and she is going a bit longer between feedings, which was my ultimate goal. I just don't know if she is over-eating, eating too fast, or what the issue is. She's never spit up this much before. 

Any advice would be appreciated! Am I doing something wrong? I don't really want to go back to the sheiks but I don't want DD to be spitting up all day either. TIA.

    my little girl spit up a lot due to a heavy let down...i would have to get her off my breast and burp her more often during a feeding.

     hope this helps

    I noticed when I weaned off the shield that LO spit up more, too.  I wouldn't say he did it all the time but he went from practically never spitting up to doing it on a regular basis.
