Late-in-game MN switch?

So DH asked me this morning if I wanted to switch this LO's planned MN. We have had two boys' names picked out since we were dating, but he now thinks the MN we had lined up for a possible DS2 sounds better with DS1's FN. 

Obviously I like both names because they were both on our list, but I had been imagining a son with this particular combo for more than two years, so our original plan sounds better to me.

We agreed to think on it some (and I'm not angry or anything), but it surprised me that it came up again after I thought it has been settled for so long, so I was wondering if anyone else has run into something similar and how you handled it. (Also, we have kept our name a secret, so no one else would know it switched.)

    DH and I had a few names when we started TTC and about 2/3 into the pg I wanted to change the middle name (I was tired of the crap from my friends and family) so we decided to start a tradition with using the middle name of our my DH and FIL (David). In the end I think I like it better than the original name.

    DH made a similar suggestion about our girl first name (team green) the other day while we were out to dinner.  I proceeded to cry at the dinner table, so I guess I'm not that much help, lol!  I kind of feel like I'm being a big jerk about things, but I can't help it.  My DH has a habit of not really having an opinion on big things like this until I have my heart set on something else, and it's so frustrating!

    MommyMeIRN, I understand! If he wanted to switch the FN, I would be pretty upset about it, too. But I am trying to be more open to it since it is the MN...We probably have a little more time to decide, so we'll see if it grows on me.

    We had the name David Isaiah picked out for our first born son, one night I had a dream that I called him lovingly by the name andrew. Woke up an told DH, and he said okay, let's go with it. So now our first born son will be named David Andrew! But you know what, DH has always wanted to pick the name before the baby comes, and I've always been in the mindset that the name we chose originally might change when we are our babys little face for the first time. So I don't really think that you are late in the game for choosing a name. Maybe let the baby decide when you meet it! It might suit one or the other? I hope you settle it well with DH and you're both happy with the decision! :)

    We still can't decide on MNs- either for a boy or a girl. DH has no opinion, other than he finds fault with whatever I am coming up with.

    At this point I have dropped it. I figure once we meet the LO either a name will fit or I will tell him the name I want and that will be it. Labor terrifies my DH like nothing else- he will give me whatever I want once immediately after the baby is born. LOL.
