Hi Ladies!
I am going for acupuncture to aid fertility today and I was wondering...do they poke you in the, erm, nether regions?
I mean I am fairly confident that they wouldn't be doing anything on your actual genitals, but I was wondering whether they do anything in the pelvic region.
Trying to decide if I need to get some extra grooming done prior to 2:45 today!
TMI - apologies!
Re: Where do they poke you?
same same .. when my M did it ... there was some closer to her mounds pubus(pubic area) she rolled her pants down a bit but that was it ...liek where they do the c-section cut if you are familiar with that

I do accupunture for chronic pain and anxiety, so the needle placement is a little different, but I wanted to give you an idea of what to expect.
It definitely depends on the practitioner, but where I go, I undress down to my bra and underwear and am given a sheet to lie under. The needle placement is mostly in my hands and arms, some in my legs and feet, and sometimes in on my head/ears. Based on the pictures she's shown me of how accupuncture works, that should be true for most accupuncture.
It's okay to tell the accupuncturist it's your first time and ask if she/he can be extra gentle. The needles really don't hurt - it is nothing at all like getting a shot or blood drawn. Once the needles are inserted, you relax and let the treatment do its job, and I find this part wonderfully relaxing.
Finally, accupuncturists are professionals and probably won't blink at a little body hair. I went without shaved legs most of the winter and felt totally comfortable and unjudged. Hope you have a good experience.

Thanks hike! This is really helpful
I'm looking forward to it
Hope your acupuncture went well!
I wanted to add my reassurances that the meridians for reproduction are not in the genitals. Mine have also been hands/wrists, ankles/feet, belly, and sometimes head. I find it very relaxing, centering and beneficial beyond just hormone regulation.
