Ladies, I just need to vent really quick. My son had issues with dairy/soy and GI bleeding as an infant, at 12 months we tested diapers after introducing dairy and they were negative. We've been great so far until I saw blood yesterday (he's 14 months now), got the diaper tested and it was positive (so I definitely saw it). I'm not positive if it's the dairy or the soy causing the issue (stressful). We are going back to the GI on Tues the 14th, but the day before that he has scratch testing at the allergist on Monday the 13th (for a hives reaction to hummus that he has an epi pen for)! I feel so bad for this poor boy. Dealing with both types of allergies sucks! Rant over. Thank you.
Re: Both types of allergies! UGH!
I know how stressful it is!! ((hugs)). My DS1 was allergic to all dairy, soy, wheat, eggs, peanuts and tree nuts. People would always ask "what can he eat???". It was tough. And honestly--it still is even after he's outgrown some of them. It's so stressful and just sucks when you can't just order mac n cheese for the little guy at the restaurant and make it nice and simple. Luckily, he can finally have something as simple as chicken tenders--something I once took for granted during his wheat allergy that he's now doing better with.
So hang in there!!!

Notes:
((Hugs)) I know how stressful it is, we're there right now.
DS ended up at the hospital on Friday night after eating hummus. We now know that he's definitely allergic to sesame, but there could be more. We don't have an epi pen though. (I posted about it above)
His eczema has gotten better since his hospital visit and I'm assuming that's because he's currently taking Zantac, Benadryl & Prednisone as a treatment to his last rxn. Which leads me to believe that he's been eating something all this time that allergic to (his eczema got really bad at about 8m).
The worst is not knowing.
