Anywhere chair - to monogram or not?

We are going to get the girls PB anywhere chairs for their 1st bday and b/c they don't know they are supposed to wait until their birthday we are buying them early :)

Would you monogram them? I love a  monogram and think it would be great but I'm worried on the off chance they don't like the chairs it will be harder to re-sell them - which I guess I would want to do if they aren't used.

  • I didn't monogram ours- we have 3 of them. I want to get re-sell out of them.

  • I think monogramming is best left to things that were carefully hand crafted by a friend or family member. Stuff you buy at a store for big bucks is stuff you want to be able to resell eventually, or hand down. Stuff that has a greater sentimental value is the stuff we monogram.

  • We did not. I wanted to be able to use them for future kids without buying new covers. Also resale value is a plus too.

  • Emily has her name on hers.  I love it!  Personally I would buy one used with a monogram because I can always get a new cover, and still save money.

  • We didn't monogram ours in case we wanted to resell. You could always buy a cover on eBay and get one monogramed if you want one.

We didn't monogram ours, but I'm not really into monogrammed things in the first place.   We got two different colors when DDs were about 15 months old, and I also wanted to allow the flexibility for them to switch chairs if they wanted.  Turns out they each have their "own" chair and they were the colors I suspected, but still, I'm glad we didn't monogram.  However, we were given a great baby gift of personalized puzzle stools and they generally have their stools in front of their chairs.

  • We have their names on them.  I don't hang on to much, but I don't ever plan on selling them, I plan on packing them very well in plastic and shoving them in the attic and our grandkids can use the same chairs our kids are using (along with the Hot Wheels, maybe some Little People, Thomas Train sets, and Legos).
