My induction story.

I was induced on 8-9-12 at 39 weeks 2 days due to a history of fast labor, living over an hour from the hospital and being gbs positive. I was extremely nervous and scared as I had a quick 6 hour and 13 minute labor with my first. Not to mention all you hear about is horror stories! I checked in at 7 am and about 8:30 got my first set of antibiotics going after the 30 mins of it going in we're over I got my first oral pill of miso (Cytotec) which I was worried about but trusted my dr. Nothing! I didn't feel any contractions and it was simply like I'm in for a long process. About 4 hours later I got my 2nd dose f antibiotics and after the 30 minutes got a second pill. After a few hours I started feeling contractions but they were minor and very few and far between. We waited for my dr to come and check me which she did at 6:30. I started the day at 2 cm and no effacement. At 6:30 I was about a 3-4 and extremely soft but still thick. She was able to and broke my water at 6:50. At 7:10 I got my first real contractions. By 8 they were pretty consistent but manageable in the tub. I was checked at 9:30 and I was fully effaced and a 6. At 10 I was a 9 and by 10:30 my body started pushing so dr came in and it was time. Koltyn was born at 10:47 pm weighing 8lb 10 oz.It was an amazing experience. He had perfect scores and we were discharged at 11 the next day. I wish you all a very fast and healthy labors. Another proof that not all inductions are miserable. Although there is times when there is no need for an induction.
