I just spent twenty minutes on the phone with my dad, trying very hard to convince him that duct taping together two strollers won't be quite the same as a double stroller. He believes in all things duct tape and he did put up quite a convincing argument ![]()

LOL! I was going to say, check out those stroller connectors! I've thought about getting 2 separate strollers but I think I'm just going to get a double stroller.
We do have the Munchkin stroller connectors and just used them on a recent trip (mostly in the airport). They were great for that purpose ... though there is no way I'd want that setup for my primary stroller unless we were COMPLETELY penniless (and this is coming from a frugal person on a tight budget). With the amount you use a stroller in the first 2 years with multiples, I think it's definitely worth investing in a good one!
My dad too- he is a duct tape pro!
While it's a good idea, they don't work that well. We tried to use them on a trip through the airport and the center front wheels get tangled. We had to tie them together with a shoelace and even still it wasn't great. I'd definitely spring for a double stroller, even on CL (I got a decent one for $100 at a multiples consignment sale). Trust me, your sanity will thank me. :-)

Yeah, I was hoping she was kidding.

For us it worked well at times but there were a few key times when the front wheels got locked together and I'd have to stop and untangle them. As long as I was going straight it was great though.
That and just thinking if you were using the joined strollers full-time, what a pain it would be to deal with the width, the set-up and take down getting the strollers in and out of the car, the decreased amount of storage space, etc.
I agree that it is worth getting a real double stroller and not just relying on the connectors. Keep an eye out of CL- we were able to buy a second Maclaren SBS in great condition for my mom's house for $40. Also watch store clearance sales- that's where we got our SBS for around 60% off.
IMO strollers are like shoes- its really hard to have just one for every situation, and you get what you pay for. My girls are 2.5 and we still use our stroller at least once a week. I'm glad we spent the time to find the best deal on a good quality stroller that still works well for us. We have a Maclaren SBS that stays in our car, and I also have a Schwinn double jogging stroller that hangs out in the garage. While bulky, it is worth it for long walks and any time we think we may not be on concrete.
Hm. Might be worth a try. I don't think you can put newborns in most umbrella strollers though, can you? It might work when they are 4-6m+ but it would be awfully wide and unwieldy. I'd probably rather wear one baby and use a double stroller. Or do they make triple SNGs?
My girlfriend has a twin brother & sister who are now in their 30's. I was talking to her mom at her shower and she told me she bolted two strollers together at the time. She was quite proud of her innovation, since she said it also let her separate them easily if necessary.
Oh, and she used to carry her own doorstop for times when there was no one around to help her maneuver through doors!
There's someone on the Moms of Multiples Resale FB page that I'm on selling a triplet frame. I have no idea how much it would cost to ship or it she'd be willing but maybe you could look into finding one used.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
I hated the double stroller.
We have two umbrellas and the connectors. It's nice for each of us to take one (we rarely use the connectors). Although now, the wagon is way better than the strollers for most outdoor activities.
