What style of diaper bag do you find most comfortable wearing at the same time you're wearing the baby? I'm thinking messenger style bag, but I'm a FTM so no idea...
Also, I'd like a bag that's not big and bulky, but fits the essentials.....would love specific recommendations, if you have any!
Re: diaper bag for baby wearing?
I wanted something cute and not too big nor too"babyish," so for a few days after the baby was here, I just carried around some random bag until I figured out what I really needed when I went out with the baby. Then, I went to Ross with all that stuff, and tried stuffing it into different purses until I found one that I liked and kept things organized. I paid something like $29.
Once the baby gets bigger and needs me to take along snacks for her, I may need to size up. Right now she is EBF, so all I really take along are some diapers, an extra onesie, a blanket, and my wallet/dayplanner, so I have a relatively small bag, which is nice because it isn't heavy.
I have a Ju Ju be. I forgot the exact name of the one I have but it is the backpack that can also be worn as a messenger bag. I love it! Fits everything without being bulky, very easy to clean, and the two carrying options make it work for all sorts of baby wearing. If my D was on my back I carried it messenger style. If he was on my front/hip I had it on my back.
I did feel it was a bit more then I would have spent on one, but my mom gave it to me as a gift. DS is 2 and I'm pregnant with #2 and it is still in AWESOME condition so she choose well
I responded on Nurseries and Baby Gear and I've just found out that the on bag (which I recommended) isn't sold in the US! If you like the idea and are crafty there are instructions to make one here.
