This morning I went in for my 28 week appointment. The boys are doing great. They have each gained a pound since my visit 3 weeks ago. They are now 2lb 10 oz and 2 lb 12 oz.
They did discover that I'm experiencing some preterm labor (my cervix has shortened to just under 3cm). I was then sent to the hospital for further monitoring. DH was working from home today and was able to come with me. The babies passed and are fine. They gave me a steroid shot to help their lungs along should I deliver early. Tomorrow I go back to the hospital for another shot and another test. I'm on couch/bed rest until a follow up appointment with my dr on Monday. I had no idea I was having contractions - no pain and didn't feel anything beyond what I thought was braxton hicks.
On a bright note, I get 2 hours off tomorrow for good behavior to attend my shower. But I have to sit with my feet up the entire time.
D & R were born at 37w5d.

Re: My morning in L&D at 28 weeks
Thank you. That's what mine feel like too. Just like you, my pregnancy has been completely uneventful until today. I'm glad my dr caught it early and insisted on sending me to L&D. I hope with all of this rest and monitoring my boys stay in even 4 more weeks.
Glad you were able to go home. Have fun at your shower tomorrow. Keep on resting!
After 22 cycles and tube removal our IVF miracle has arrived! Detailed IF and IVF info in bio.
Thanks for the advice. my cervix was 2.7 today. I'm a little nervous about going out for my shower tomorrow, but my friend's won't let me lift a finger and I go straight from there to the hospital for my next round of shots. I'll be really diligent about laying down, rather than just sitting up with my feet up this weekend. I'm glad to hear you are almost at 32 weeks! If I get strict bed rest, I'll follow it to a T.
I too went to L&D at 28 weeks and found out I was having contractions. I thought they were just BH and was put on bedrest until I delivered at 36w4d.
Just keep your feet up and cook those babies as long as possible! Good luck!!
Glad you were able to come home and are receiving the shots.
I'm on bed rest for PTL issues and was in L&D this week as well. Being compliant really does make a noticeable difference,at least for me. My measurement had dropped to 3.0 early on,but after rest it's staying around 4.0. Anytime I get up and move too much, my body lets me know. At this point my doctor is very hopeful and confident I can make it to 36 weeks with rest and meds.
Be sure to take it easy! Enjoy your shower tomorrow, sounds like you have great friends who will being taking great care of you there
That's great to know that your cervix can still lengthen. I just assumed that once it shortens, you can only go down from there. 36 weeks would be awesome!
