Just spent the last 8 hours in L&D to stop my contractions, and now I'm on procardia and modified bed rest. I'm only 23w3d. It's upsetting to be put on bed rest so early.
Totally bummed.
Update: The procardia did not help my contractions, and I ended up in L&D again yesterday. They gave me terbutaline to stop them (I felt like I was on speed! Has anyone else gotten this medication?!) and increased my procardia dosage. I feel like crap, mentally and physically.
Re: Procardia and modified bed rest :( UPDATE
Twin boys born too early at 17w4d and 18w2d in February 2010
Transabdominal cerclage placed September 2010
DS born at 35w1d in February 2011
Twin girls born at exactly 36w in February 2013
Thank you! It really does. I'm thankful for this board, even though I mostly lurk. None of my girlfriends understand what I'm going through right now, and I get even more frustrated when they tell me, "I know it's rough, but I worked until the day I delivered." Great for you. Ugh!
Yuck. I went on this at 30-34 weeks when they took me off since they wouldnt stop labor after that. Make sure that you do some bed rest exercises. The procardia makes your muscles weak & harder to recover from after birth.
