Argh. Craigslist complaint.

Our washer died.  It was about 11 years old...  We bought a "new" one on craigslist and the lady who is selling it seems kind of nutty on the phone, but whatever, people are scattered sometimes.  This seems like a great buy because they live exactly five blocks from us!  I say, "What time works for you on Saturday to pick it up?"  She says ten is good.  Great.  I make plans to have a babysitter in the afternoon and a date day.  This morning at 9:00, she leaves a message saying they actually live a few cities over (apparently selling the house here) and it will be closer to 12:30 when they actually want to come.  After a text message about why I made plans with her two days ago and we have a babysitter at noon, she decides maybe they can make it at 10, but good god woman!  You don't call a stranger an hour before you made plans and say, oh, we'll actually show up a few hours later than that.  Argh.

Re: Argh. Craigslist complaint.

  • Good luck... last weekend I moved into a new place and had scheduled a guy from craigslist to deliver his washer and dryer to us at the same time the movers were there so they could actually bring it up the stairs into the apartment. The guy was a no show. I was sooooo ticked off. Luckily, I didn't pay him or anything, but what the heck? I ended up finding someone else on CL to sell us another set, and he was kind enough to deliver and bring into the house, but you just never know what you're getting/dealing with when it comes to CL!
