First IUI with Injectables

Hello,

My partner and I have been TTC via IUI and currently on our 5th IUI but first time with injectables (Gonal F RFF, Lupron, Menopur then the trigger). The first one was spontaneous and the last 3 were with 100mg of Clomid. My beta is on 8/14/12, and of course having many symptoms but also taking the crinone daily which can mock pg symptoms as well. Getting tired of the negatives and hoping this one sticks but feeling pretty down. The difference with this IUI is that I have been doing acupuncture for fertility along with yoga for fertility and taking recommended supplements that have been found to help with fertility. Haven't found many others with similar stories, are you out there?

Re: First IUI with Injectables

  • There are several women on this board who are currently trying to conceive, including me.  I don't think anyone's on injectables right now but people should correct me if I'm wrong.  If IUI #9 doesn't work for me, we're probably skipping injects and moving on to IVF.

    Welcome and good luck!

  • I don't know if our story is like yours, but we're a nice couple of married ladies who decided to IUI our way to parenthood. :)

Because of my age (34), I was willing to go right to injectables. We almost did Clonid, but changed our minds at the last minute. We are very glad we did, given what we now know about the thinning of the lining. Conception doesn't do mic good if implantation cannot occur.

Also did a trigger shot and in-office IUI. Happy to currently be 9 weeks. Drs. tell us not to get used to this sort of success, but it sure feels good. Dose of follistim was 25mg (super small). One follicle. Alternative stuff? I did a couple self treatments of implantation acupressure (supposed to stimulate blood flow to ute), ate lots of pineapple (easy, since we live in Hawaii), and abstained from coffee.

    Good luck!

  • Um, that's supposed to be "Clomid." My iPhone won't let me edit.  "Clonid" would be a much worse drug, as one of me is more than enough, I'm sure.

Clomid does not necessarily thin your lining -- it depends on how your body reacts to it.  Clomid screwed up my ovulation but my lining was very thick.
