Helium

Dude I never thought balloons would be so damn expensive lol. I have called Party City, 99cent store, Dollar Tree and other Party Stores. Every store is 75cents per balloon! 99cents Store 49cents.

Did you go to a party store to fill balloons or did you just buy a Helium tank?

Smile

Re: Helium

  • I blew all if our balloons up with my lungs of steel. But, I do know there was a pinterest trick about using baking soda and vinigar to make the balloons float like helium. Are you on pinterest?

Really? Can you post a link? DH was saying we would probably just buy a tank. I am interested in this. Thanks Smile

  • There is a helium shortage that is why they are so expensive.  We got a bunch of them anyway for table centerpieces.  Buying a tank will be expensive too because of the shortage.

I rented a tank for a charity event I planned a year ago. It was $55 and that was the cheapest I found  after calling 3 places!

Those fill about 20 balloons, FYI.  They also usually come with balloons.  I've always had to use pliers to get the valve to turn the first time too.

  • FYI, balloons filled with baking soda and vinegar will not float. They will sink. Not sure if pinterest has some magic floating trick, but in general those balloons sink.
