I'm 6.5 weeks pregnant today and I'm spotting with light cramping (lower back pain.) I called the OB this morning, and he said to take it easy get off my feet and rescheduled my first ultrasound for first thing Monday morning. I had a mc with my first pregnancy, but didn't have these symptoms, and I never spotted with my LO.
On a scale of totally normal to impending doom, where does that leave things?
Any tips on how to get through the next 2.5 days (one of which is my b-day) without knowing for sure?
Thanks for your thoughts experienced mamas.

Re: 1st tri question
I've spotted with both pregnancies now. For 9 weeks with this one and for 16 weeks with DS! Both OBs always told me it could be completely normal and never found a reason for it. Mild cramping is also normal in the first trimester. I've pretty much felt like I'm about to start my period any second now for the last 11 weeks!
If you start bleeding and filling pads or have severe cramping or just can't take the worry anymore and want answers right now, then go to the ER this weekend. There's no shame in an ER visit! I absolutely panicked with my first one with the constant spotting and this time, I was more like, oh, here we go again! With Nate, I think I had four ultrasounds in the first trimester because I kept going to the OB in a panic.
I'm glad you feel better about it!
I also forgot that cramping can be caused by mild dehydration. Try to drink more water. I stink at remembering to drink enough water during pregnancy and am probably also a little dehydrated this summer.
It can be totally normal. I have had spotting throughout my first trimester with both pregnancies now. But I do know that once you have had the miscarriage, it's hard to feel comforted though by stories like those. Even with this second pregnancy, even though I knew that I spotted with Alexander, it didn't make me feel better to see that spotting on the tp! Just hang in there! I will be crossing my fingers for you!
Oh no. If I were you, I'd go the ER just so you know. Fingers crossed for you.
oh boy - I hope it's nothing and you can see your little bean on screen soon. Try to take it easy until then.
