DD got two teeth this past week and now she is obsessed with biting. I have read and gotten advice from so many but nothing really seems to stop her. tonight was really bad, she was doing fine on one side but seemed like time to switch and then she just out of nowhere with no warning (i usually can tell at this point when she's getting ready to bite or latch) just chomped down like a shark!!! I actually yelled really loudly and i tapped her mouth and said no no! it was like so knee jerk and I felt so awful. She criiiiiiiieeeeeeeddddd... soooooo freaking heartbroken. it took me a couple hours to get her on again

and I'm having like anxiety about it. like i am so afraid she will bite when i start out that my heart starts racing and all.
when I did get her back on this evening, she nursed well and then late into the session gave me a little bite, and I had primed myself to try very hard not to react. and i didn't. i just took her off pretty quickly but not jerkily and said ok we are done. and then she went to bed shortly after... i don't know what to do!!!

The biting lasted for about two weeks after LO got his bottom teeth. He has done it a few times since. I just take him off, say we're done here, do something else for a few minutes, and then feed him again if he is still looking for food. I rarely get bit a second time. But the biting gave me PTSD. I'm still nervous every time he goes to latch on.
i feel ya on that one

I do the same thing when he bites me, I usually scream, pull him off and say "NO" except instead of the pouty lip, he flashes me a huge smirky grin... I hope this isn't a sign of what's to come...
