are you incorporating your LOs in to how you're telling family/close friends?

We're having a photo shoot next week with DS and I'm making a shirt for him that I found on Pinterest. We'll work in the pictures in different conversations with our parents in order to tell them. We're only telling close family right now (our parents and siblings) and they know we typically get summer pics done of DS, so we thought this was a good way to do it, and then they get a keepsake out of it, too!

No, we are not. It's super cute to involve LO, but I wanted to do something different (hence the picture I drew of a sperm and an egg to tell my H). For my sister I am going to ask if I can borrow a book. When she asks which one I'll say What to Expect. No idea for my parents, but for my extended family I plan on just dropping it in coversation and seeing who picks up on it. Like "Oh and the baby comes in April I'll have some time to work on the bridal shower for Megan."

And as I said in FFFC, I don't give a crap how my in laws find out.

That will be very fun! We're also going to tell through photos. I'm a very amateur photog so I'll just use my remote switch to take some family photos. I finished up my DS's 18 month ones a couple of weeks ago, so we'll hand them out and in there will be some family ones with one of those making our announcement.

I just have SUCH a hard time keeping this sort of secret because I truly want to share with everyone right away!

I ordered a shirt for our LO that says "only child Expired April 2013"...My in-laws are flying in to visit with us for a week so I'm just going to put the shirt on her on monday and see if they're paying attention. I'm going to do the same thing with my family when we go camping with them in a few weeks. It will be fun to see how long it takes someone to notice her shirt.

Since this baby was conceived at the beach (and ironically so was our daughter which our family knows) I'd like to have her wear a big sister tee shirt under a sweat shirt. When everyone's in the room, I'd like to say something like, "Oh did we show you guys our favorite souvenir from the beach?"and take off the sweater to show the news.

I'm going to make some geeky shirt for DD and do some family photos. We will probably do some pinterest inspired photos too. Our family already knows, so it would just be for facebook or whatever.

Since I am Pintrest obsessed and everyone knows that I jsut love doing crafts adn stuff with the kids and I do scrapbooking and sewing, I am going to make a shirt that says "I'm so crafty, I even make children, x3" and see who notices.

Last time I dress my DD in a shirt that said "shhh I have a secret" on the front, and on the back it said "I'm going to be a big sister and the date"

That's where I saw it too and then I jumped over to Etsy and ordered a shirt because I love etsy as much as i love pinterest! It came in the mail today and it's so super cute and I can't wait to put LO in it!!

Nope--This is baby #4 for us & I don't think any of our parents are all that supportive of us having more. We probably won't even tell them for a few months. It'll be hardest to keep it from my girls--they'll be really excited at least

When I was pg with DD2, I had DD1 wear a big sister t-shirt to tell everyone.

I have no idea what we're going to do this time around. My first doctor's appointment isn't until Sept 11th, so I think we're going to wait until then.

We did the shirt with pg #2 and #3 so I'm steering clear! Our immediate family knows bc we did IVF and kept them updated. This time I'm zipped up until week 20 or whenever we can get all screening tests back. Sucks being like this but it's harder to un-tell.

We told DD,who is 12. DS is too young to know/care. We've told my parents and siblings and will be telling the IL's when we see them next week. We did DS in a big brother onsie.

Our DD is 3.5 . . . we aren't going to tell until the second trimester . . . we'll tell her at the same time we tell family. So we are going to tell her and have that conversation and then take a video of her to email to my husband's family (they will be excited). It will probably be all the things she is going to do with her baby sister, like putting her in the shopping cart and going grocery shopping together, giving her a bath, etc. I envision that they will love it!

We are only 5.5 weeks along so we of course don't know the gender, but she insists on only a girl

I'm so sorry for your lack of support . . . I don't know your situation, but it stinks that you are dealing with that. Each and every baby is amazing.

WE had baby themed foods for dinner with both of our parents and Owen came out in a "soon to be a big brother" shirt. We sent a picture of him in the shirt to my two sets of BIL and SIL's.

For #2 I did the big brother tshirt. For #3 I had both boys holding the us picture. For this one, Im going to put all the kids in cat n the hat shirts. Thing 1, 2, 3 and a newborn onesis with thing 4 on it. Then Im going to have their pics taken. We'll post it on Fb and see who notices. My family already knows.

yes. I actually did this with DH and ran out and got a Big Sister shirt for Adalyn. She was wearing it when he got home from work and I have the cutest video. I think we will do something similar on Skype with family.

i did the same thing for dh. unfortunately, all Carter's had was a 4T it looked more like a dress, lol. Pretty sure we will do something similar for our family. i have plenty of time to find the right size. we dont share until 12 weeks.

I agree! I'm sorry you don't have the support of your family. At least your girls will be excited about the latest addition to the family.
