Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Diaper brands

What diapers are you all using now.  Most of my co-workers started out with the pampers swaddlers when they were tiny and then switched to the Target brand or a generic brand diaper for when they were older.  I started using the Target brand this week just because I got them as a gift and they work just fine but they feel really papery or cheap where the pampers (I realize more $$) feel so much softer.

 Thoughts?

Re: Diaper brands

  • I use Pampers or Huggies but I way prefer Pampers. I coupon and buy lots when they're on sale so they're cheaper than generics. Early on, I started stockpiling all the way up to size 5s but, now that I've had 5 months to see what works, I kind of wish I had only gotten the Pampers. It's not that the Huggies don't work as well, the fit is just not quite as good on my son so getting them on is a little more awkward.

  • Use whatever you like. I didn't like Pampers at all because my LO kept having poopy blow-outs in them. Huggies were better, but Luvs are the best on her. I didn't like the store brand diapers either.

  • We use Pampers; we tried one store brand and DD got a HUGE diaper rash. I feel so bad for her :(

  • I always use whatever is cheapest. I'm a stay at home mom and price means everything. Sometimes, it is Pampers with a coupon, sometimes the store brand.  But be careful to calculate the price per diaper because sometimes store brands can be even more expensive than name brands.  Luvs are great for the price.  Huggies seem to be sized a little smaller than other brands so they are great for if your baby needs to go up a size but is not quite big enough for the next size.  I agree with you that the big brands seem to feel better, but so far I've not found a single brand that doesn't do its job--which is to contain the liquids!   Good luck!
  • I started out with Huggies. Then went to size 1-2 Kirkland brand from Costco. When we made the decision for me to be a stay at home mom I went into saver mode and tried out the Target Brand. I have to admit that I was skeptical at first, I opened them up and saw how thin they were and didn't think they stood a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. I have no problems with them what so ever. No rashes. No more leaking or blow outs than with any other diapers so far. That may change as DD gets older or starts solids, etc. We shall see. But for now, I like them because of the price. I also use Target Brand formula and DD has no problems.

  • Huggies snug & dry, or huggies natural. We prefer huggies natural, but Sam's Club has Huggies s & d box of 192 for $38.

  • I use the target brand and actually really like them. She would leak pampers and night and has never leaked the target diapers.

  • We have had great luck with Luvs. They fit well and no major blow outs. The price is normally better than the store brands. Diapers seem to be trial, error and cost. If a store brand has an awesome deal we will buy them like Walgreens BOGO. Walmart and krogers store brand are the same diaper made at the same factory here in delaware ohio.

  • Use what works best for Your LO. We started with the Pampers Swaddlers because the hospital provided them and kept with them because to this day **knock on wood** DD has yet to have a rash and blow-outs are rare.

  • We use Target or Costco's Kirkland brand. They may not feel like the expensive diapers but they both work great.

  • We use mostly cloth but I like Seventh Generation disposables. We sometimes put her in one at night and have ever had a leak or rash. I can't find them in stores so have them delivered from Amazon.

  • We use whatever is on sale...but our preference is pampers brand.  I agree with PP's - use what you like - wholesale clubs usually have good deals with store coupns available as well.
